My Nguyen
Outreach Volunteer
My is currently pursuing a degree in Psychology at York University, with the long-term goal of becoming a Registered Psychotherapist. She is particularly interested in psychodynamic approaches and the importance of culturally sensitive care, both in Canada and in her home country of Vietnam. Originally from Vietnam, My has also lived in Japan and now resides in Canada, experiences that have influenced her deep appreciation for the emotional and cultural factors in adapting to new environments. These transitions have created a strong sense of compassion and a desire to support others navigating similar challenges, particularly through the lens of mental health and emotional well-being. As a volunteer, My is eager to contribute to a mission that prioritizes emotional connection and accessible mental health support. She looks forward to gaining hands-on experience in outreach and learning how services can be made more inclusive for diverse communities. Outside of her academic and volunteer work, My enjoys reading, watching Netflix, and staying connected with her parents.
