Join us as a Psychologist or Psychological Associate

About the Centre for Psychodynamic Insights

The Centre for Psychodynamic Insights is a virtual psychotherapy clinic based in Toronto, Ontario, specializing in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic care. Our evidence-based approach focuses on exploring the unconscious roots of psychological symptoms through in-depth, collaborative conversations. We help patients understand how early life experiences shape present struggles, and we offer individualized treatment that promotes insight, symptom relief, and lasting emotional change.

As we grow, we are looking to expand our services to include psychological assessment. We are seeking clinicians with expertise in both psychodynamic therapy and diagnostic evaluations to support this integration of clinical depth with assessment precision.

About the Position

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Psychologist or Psychological Associate to join our team as an independent contractor in a part-time, remote role. This opportunity is ideal for a clinician with a strong foundation in psychodynamic or psychoanalytic therapy who also brings extensive assessment experience, including diagnostic work with mood disorders, ADHD, and autism.

In this role, you will:

  • Conduct psychological assessments to support diagnostic clarity and treatment planning.

  • Integrate findings into psychodynamic formulations that explore both surface-level symptoms and underlying intrapsychic dynamics.

  • Work virtually with adolescents and adults (16+) presenting with complex emotional, developmental, and relational issues including trauma, neurodevelopmental conditions, personality disorders, and sexual concerns.

This position offers flexible scheduling and an opportunity to practice within a clinic that values deep psychological work, individualized care, and clinical rigor.

  • Collaborate on individualized case formulations that incorporate both diagnostic findings and unconscious processes.

  • Document clinical work securely using JaneApp, adhering to professional and regulatory standards.

  • Maintain a confidential remote workspace with stable internet, professional lighting, and a quality camera.

  • Communicate with patients using a dedicated business phone line.

  • Maintain a weekly caseload of at least 8 patients.

  • Open to registering with IVAC and NIHB if needed.

  • Deep knowledge and commitment to psychodynamic/psychoanalytic therapy, obtained through personal therapy, education, clinical training, supervision, or professional experience.

  • Comfort with virtual psychotherapy and assessment work.

Please note:
This position is for clinicians whose primary orientation is psychodynamic or psychoanalytic. Those trained primarily in CBT, DBT, or other non-analytic models will not be a clinical fit.
