Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Even when it feels messy, it will work out. I’m Aya, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) who works with individuals navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, identity, and life transitions. I create a space where patients can talk openly, slow down racing thoughts, and start to make sense of what they’re feeling. I’m especially interested in helping people untangle patterns in their relationships, whether at home, with friends, at work, or in romantic connections and explore how past experiences shape the way they relate to others today. My approach is rooted in psychodynamic therapy with a relational focus, integrating person-centered principles to provide a supportive, non-judgmental environment where patients feel heard and understood. I also bring a somatic perspective, paying attention to the nervous system and how the body holds emotions, which helps patients connect physical sensations with emotional experiences and develop more holistic ways to cope. Having moved to Canada from Lebanon eight years ago, I bring cultural sensitivity and a personal understanding of identity, belonging, and adjustment. Outside of work, I enjoy music, creative projects, and staying active ways to nurture both mental and emotional wellbeing.

Sessions with Aya
In our sessions, I create a space for you to slow down and talk through what’s been on your mind. I ask questions to understand your experiences while giving you room to express yourself openly. Many people come in feeling overwhelmed or unsure of how to make sense of everything they’re thinking and feeling, and part of my role is to help you organize those thoughts, gain clarity, and put words to what you’re experiencing.
I walk alongside you throughout the process, helping you explore patterns in your relationships at home, with friends, at work, or in romantic connection and how these patterns might be influencing your emotions and behaviors today. We also look at how past experiences may be shaping your present challenges. Beyond insight, I make sure to equip you with practical tools and strategies you can apply outside of therapy to manage emotions, navigate relationships, and cope with challenges in your daily life.
My goal is for you to leave sessions feeling heard, understood, and supported, with a clearer understanding of yourself and actionable ways to move forward in your life and relationships.
