Alexandra Fowler
Community Outreach Assistant
Alexandra is a Community Outreach Assistant with the Centre for Psychodynamic Insights. She recently graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and developed a strong interest in mental health through her academic work, particularly research exploring the relationship between Parkinson’s disease, art, and rehabilitation. This experience furthered her understanding of the role creativity and psychological wellbeing play in health and recovery.
Alexandra is passionate about improving access to mental health support and was drawn to the Centre because its mission aligns closely with her values. Through her volunteer work, she is excited to contribute in a meaningful, hands-on way while learning more about how mental health services operate in practice.
Her interests in the mental health field include research, prevention, and early intervention strategies, which she previously explored while working as a research assistant. She is also curious about the clinical side of the field, including counselling and psychotherapy, and hopes to continue expanding her knowledge across different areas of psychological research and practice.
Outside of her academic and professional interests, Alexandra enjoys creative hobbies and particularly loves sewing and crafting.
