Shruthi Viswanathan

Outreach Volunteer

Shruthi is an aspiring mental health professional with a BSc in Psychology, Neuroscience & Behaviour from McMaster University and is beginning her Master’s in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy at the University of Toronto this fall. She is passionate about psychodynamic therapy for its depth, emphasis on self-awareness, and focus on the therapeutic relationship, which aligns with her clinical values. Shruthi has worked in a private counselling clinic supporting client intakes, assessments, and marketing, and has also held roles as a Teaching Assistant, Student Mentor, and Research Assistant in developmental psychology. At the Centre for Psychodynamic Insights, she is excited to support outreach, funding research, and collaborative partnerships. She is especially committed to improving access to mental health care for low-income, BIPOC, and immigrant communities. In her spare time, Shruthi enjoys board games, mystery novels, photography, art, and traveling to experience new cultures.
