Bolour Kalibar, MA, RP
Registered Psychotherapist
With over eight years of clinical experience, Bolour tailors each session to the individual needs of her patients, providing a supportive therapeutic setting where they can reflect on their experiences and explore their thoughts and emotions at their own pace. Sessions are designed to offer a consistent space for self-exploration, understanding, and psychological growth.
Her approach focuses on revealing, understanding, and working through the underlying emotional processes that often contribute to symptoms and difficulties, drawing on evidence-based interventions within a comprehensive and collaborative treatment plan.
Rooted in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, Bolour’s work centers on helping patients explore unconscious patterns, relational dynamics, and deeper internal conflicts that shape their present experiences. Rather than focusing solely on symptom reduction, treatment aims to foster greater self-understanding and meaningful psychological change over time.
Bolour holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Developmental Psychology and a postgraduate diploma from the Canadian Institute for Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (CICAPP). She has completed four years of specialized psychoanalytic psychotherapy training and has additional experience providing psychodynamic psychotherapy to adults. Her clinical work is further informed by advanced training in Mentalization-Based Therapy (MBT), Attachment-Based Therapy, Play Therapy, and Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), allowing treatment to be adapted to the unique needs and goals of each patient.

Sessions with Bolour
Individual Sessions:
An initial intake session is an opportunity to explore what has brought you to therapy, including current concerns, symptoms, and relevant personal history. It also helps clarify your goals and allows us to assess whether working together feels like a good fit. Following this, we collaboratively develop a treatment plan that outlines the main areas of focus, while remaining flexible as therapy progresses and new themes emerge.
Ongoing sessions provide a consistent space to reflect on current difficulties alongside underlying emotional patterns and relational dynamics. The work balances attention to immediate concerns with deeper exploration of the meanings behind recurring experiences. Over time, therapy aims to support greater self-understanding, emotional clarity, and more flexible ways of responding to internal and external challenges.
Parenting Sessions:
This is an opportunity for parents to take time to reflect on their parenting, their family life, and to gain a deeper understanding of the relationships and emotional dynamics within the parent–child system. Here, parents are invited to share their concerns about their children, their observations, and their emotional responses to parenting challenges. From the initial session and throughout the work, there is space to explore both practical difficulties and the feelings that arise in relation to them, including worry, frustration, guilt, or uncertainty.
Together, we also explore how a parent’s own early experiences, attachment patterns, and internalised relational models may be influencing current parenting styles and responses. Attention is given to intergenerational patterns, unconscious expectations, and the ways in which past relational experiences can be re-enacted or modified in the present relationship with the child. The work aims to help parents understand their child’s emotional world as well as their own internal responses, including moments where communication or behaviour may carry symbolic meaning within the relationship. This may include exploring emotional attunement, misattunement, projections, and the child’s expressions of unmet needs through behaviour.
The overall goal is to support parents in developing a deeper understanding of both themselves and their children, allowing for more reflective, responsive, and emotionally informed ways of relating that can support the child’s emotional development and the stability of the family system.
