OAP Coverage
What Is the Ontario Autism Program (OAP)?
The Ontario Autism Program (OAP) provides funding for eligible services and supports for children and youth on the autism spectrum and their families. At the Centre for Psychodynamic Insights, we offer psychotherapy and counselling services delivered by qualified regulated clinicians that may be eligible for OAP funding. Our services support emotional well-being, interpersonal relationships, behavioural and emotional challenges, and the individual needs of children, youth, and families.
Key Features of the Program
Who Is Eligible for OAP Funding?
The Ontario Autism Program supports eligible children and youth on the autism spectrum and their families. Eligibility for funded services depends on the individual's registration, funding allocation, and applicable program guidelines.
Children and youth registered with the Ontario Autism Program.
Families who have received funding for eligible core clinical services.
Children and youth requiring mental health support, including counselling or psychotherapy.
Families seeking eligible therapeutic services to support their child's emotional and psychological well-being.
How OAP Supports Mental Health Care
Children and youth on the autism spectrum may experience challenges related to anxiety, emotional regulation, interpersonal relationships, and social experiences. OAP funding for core clinical services may be used for eligible counselling and psychotherapy delivered or supervised by qualified regulated professionals.
At the Centre for Psychodynamic Insights, we offer:
Individual psychotherapy for emotional and psychological challenges.
Support for anxiety, depression, and emotional regulation.
Psychotherapy addressing self-esteem, identity, and interpersonal relationships.
Family counselling and support for relational and emotional difficulties.
Individualized, developmentally appropriate therapeutic approaches.
How to Access OAP-Funded Services
Confirm Your OAP Funding
Before scheduling an appointment, families should confirm that they have an eligible funding allocation and that their requested service meets current OAP funding guidelines. This can be done through AccessOAP or their assigned care coordinator.
Schedule an Appointment
Contact the Centre for Psychodynamic Insights to discuss the child's or youth's therapeutic needs and available clinicians. Our team can help identify an appropriate clinician and provide information about service fees and documentation.
Families may use their OAP funding allocation toward eligible psychotherapy and counselling expenses, subject to program requirements. Funding eligibility and reimbursement are determined by the Ontario Autism Program, and families remain responsible for confirming their available funding.
