As we grow, we are expanding our clinical supervision services to support emerging and established therapists across Canada. We are seeking a College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) Supervisor who can provide thoughtful, ethical, and clinically rigorous supervision to clinicians working toward registration, competency development, and deeper clinical formulation.
About the Position
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate CAP Supervisor to join our team as an independent contractor in a part-time, remote role.
This position is ideal for a Registered Psychologist in Alberta who meets the College of Alberta Psychologists’ requirements to provide supervision to provisional psychologists. In this role, you will provide clinical supervision, consultation, case formulation support, documentation guidance, and professional development support to supervisees working with diverse patient presentations.

Core Responsibilities
Provide clinical supervision to provisional psychologists and/or other clinicians, in accordance with applicable regulatory standards.
Support supervisees in developing clinical judgment, assessment skills, treatment planning, case conceptualization, and ethical decision-making.
Review and discuss clinical cases, including presenting concerns, risk considerations, therapeutic process, transference and countertransference dynamics, and treatment progress.
Provide guidance on documentation, informed consent, boundaries, confidentiality, clinical risk, and professional standards.
Support supervisees in integrating psychodynamic or psychoanalytic thinking into their clinical work where appropriate.
Offer feedback that is clear, constructive, supportive, and developmentally appropriate.
Maintain accurate supervision records in accordance with professional and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with clinic leadership regarding supervisee development, supervision structure, and clinical quality.
Participate in supervision planning, onboarding, and periodic review processes as needed.
Maintain a confidential remote workspace with stable internet, professional lighting, and a quality camera.
Communicate with supervisees and the clinic using a dedicated business phone line or approved professional communication channels.
Qualifications
Doctoral or master’s degree in psychology, counselling psychology, clinical psychology, or a related psychological discipline.
Registered and in good standing with CAP.
Authorized to practise independently in Alberta.
Eligible to provide supervision to provisional psychologists under CAP’s requirements.
Demonstrated experience providing clinical supervision, consultation, or mentorship.
Strong knowledge of professional ethics, regulatory requirements, documentation standards, informed consent, risk management, and scope of practice.
Experience providing psychotherapy and/or psychological services to adults, adolescents, couples, families, or children.
Commitment to ethical, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and supervisee-centred supervision.
Assets
Experience providing psychodynamic or psychoanalytic supervision.
Experience with Freudian, Kleinian, object relations, attachment-based, relational, or contemporary psychodynamic approaches.
Experience supporting clinicians working with complex trauma, personality functioning, anxiety, depression, relational concerns, grief, family dynamics, or identity-related concerns.
Experience supervising provisional psychologists in Alberta.
Experience with assessment supervision, diagnostic formulation, or integrated psychological reports.
Familiarity with JaneApp or similar practice management software.
Experience supporting clinicians in virtual practice.
Fluency in French or additional languages.
Availability
Monday to Friday availability, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings.
Flexible scheduling is available based on supervisor preference, supervisee needs, and clinic requirements.
Availability for recurring weekly or biweekly supervision is considered an asset.
