Psychodynamic therapy Toronto

Chloe Robinet

Community Outreach Assistant

I was drawn to volunteer for the Centre for Psychodynamic Insights due to The Centre's focus on truly meaningful connections which strongly aligns with my personal values and academic interests. As someone who is passionate about psychology, I am eager to learn more about psychodynamic perspectives and how they can support individuals in achieving growth and understanding their personal struggles. I am very passionate as well about improving accessibility to mental health resources which greatly aligns with The Centre's mission. The Centre for Psychodynamic Insights team is extremely knowledgeable in my interests and I was drawn to the opportunity to contribute to a supportive environment where empathy and learning is priority.

I am most looking forward to expanding my knowledge about psychodynamic approaches in practice and contributing positively to the community in any way I can. I am excited to bring my passion about learning and develop my own skills through observing professionals in the field and the work that goes into supporting clients and practices behind the scenes. I am also looking forward to being part of a team that values empathy, growth, and understanding.

I am currently pursuing an undergraduate degree with honours in psychology with a concentration in counselling. Through my coursework, I have developed knowledge in areas such as interpersonal relationships, mental health and human behaviour. In addition to academics, I am a research assistant in a social cognition lab and volunteer as well in children's hospitals and provide weekly telephone calls to isolated seniors. These experiences alongside my education have allowed me to develop and enhance my skills in  communication, teamwork and organization which I believe are important in supportive environments.

I am greatly interested in psychotherapy and have a strong desire to pursue a career in counselling and therapy in the future. I am most passionate about creating a safe and accessible space where people feel heard and understood. I believe inclusivity and understanding is pivotal in allowing for supportive relationships that foster growth and positive well-being. I am very passionate as well in reducing the stigma surrounding mental illness to allow for open conversations to be had so that more people can find support.
