Isabella Vicente
Medical Billings Assistant
Isabella is our Medical Billing Assistant with the Centre for Psychodynamic Insights. In this role, she supports the administrative side of patient care by assisting with medical billing processes, including OHIP and other insurance submissions, helping ensure services are accurately processed so patients and clinicians can access care smoothly and efficiently. She also contributes to outreach activities that help connect community members with available mental health services.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology from Toronto Metropolitan University (2024). During her undergraduate studies, her coursework in childhood development led her to work with children aged 4 to 16 as an after-school tutor, where she developed strong skills in creative problem-solving and communication. She has also worked in a medical setting as a medical secretary, gaining valuable experience in healthcare administration and patient communication.
Isabella was drawn to the Centre for Psychodynamic Insights because of the depth and long-term change supported by the psychodynamic approach, which explores unconscious processes and relational patterns to better understand emotions and behaviour.
Currently studying Addictions and Mental Health at Humber Polytechnic, she hopes to pursue a career as a clinical psychologist, with a particular interest in addiction and 2SLGBTQIA+ mental health. Having lived in Toronto her entire life, she is passionate about addressing the societal, environmental, and psychological pressures that affect marginalized communities, and she hopes her work in the field will contribute to meaningful change.
In her role, she is especially looking forward to learning from the Centre’s team of psychologists, psychiatrists, and psychotherapists while gaining firsthand insight into clinical practice and mental health service delivery.
Outside of her academic and professional interests, Isabella is an avid film enthusiast. She appreciates how film can explore themes such as mental health, imagination, power, and identity. Some of her favourite films include Coraline, Donnie Darko, Black Swan, The Florida Project, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and Fantastic Mr. Fox. For her, movies can help people feel seen and understood.
