We help patients understand how early life experiences shape present struggles, and we offer individualized treatment that promotes insight, symptom relief, and lasting emotional change.
As we grow, we are expanding our interdisciplinary services to better support patients whose mental health concerns may intersect with neurological, cognitive, developmental, or medical factors. We are seeking a Neurologist who can provide specialized neurological assessment, diagnostic clarification, and treatment recommendations while working collaboratively within a mental health-focused clinical environment.
About the Position
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Neurologist licensed to practise in Ontario to join our team as an independent contractor in a part-time role.
This position is ideal for a physician with experience or interest in the assessment and management of neurological concerns that may affect emotional well-being, cognition, behaviour, functioning, and quality of life. In this role, you may provide neurological consultations, assessments, diagnostic impressions, treatment planning, and follow-up recommendations for patients presenting with neurological, neurodevelopmental, cognitive, or mental health-related concerns.
The role offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to work within a clinic that values clinical depth, diagnostic clarity, interdisciplinary collaboration, and individualized patient care.
Core Responsibilities
Conduct neurological consultations, assessments, and follow-up appointments for patients presenting with neurological or neuropsychiatric concerns.
Assess and provide diagnostic clarification for conditions that may include concussion, acquired brain injury, headaches, migraines, seizure-related concerns, cognitive changes, developmental concerns, attention-related concerns, movement concerns, and other neurological presentations.
Review and interpret relevant diagnostic tests, medical records, clinical findings, and collateral information as appropriate.
Develop individualized treatment recommendations and care plans within your scope of practice.
Identify neurological or medical contributors to psychological, cognitive, behavioural, or emotional symptoms.
Complete clear, accurate, and timely medical documentation, reports, letters, and forms as required for patient care.
Collaborate with psychotherapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, family physicians, and other healthcare professionals as clinically appropriate and with patient consent.
Participate in case discussions, interdisciplinary planning, or clinical consultation where appropriate.
Document clinical work securely using EMRs, adhering to professional and regulatory standards.
Maintain a confidential remote workspace with stable internet, professional lighting, and a quality camera for virtual care.
Communicate with patients using a dedicated business phone line.
Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine degree or equivalent.
Specialist certification in Neurology through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or equivalent recognized training.
Licensed and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
Eligible to practise independently in Ontario.
Demonstrated experience conducting neurological assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning.
Comfort providing virtual neurological consultations where clinically appropriate.
Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and documentation practices.
Commitment to ethical, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and patient-centred care.
Assets
Experience assessing and treating concussion, acquired brain injury, headaches, migraines, seizure-related concerns, cognitive changes, neurodevelopmental concerns, or neurological presentations that overlap with mental health.
Experience working in multidisciplinary or interdisciplinary healthcare settings.
Experience collaborating with psychologists, psychiatrists, psychotherapists, family physicians, rehabilitation professionals, schools, insurers, or legal professionals.
Interest in the relationship between neurological functioning, psychological symptoms, trauma, development, and emotional well-being.
Experience in preparing medical reports, consultation letters, or treatment recommendations.
Familiarity with EMRs.
Fluency in French or additional languages.
Availability
8 hours between Monday and Friday availability, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings.
Flexible scheduling is available based on physician preference and clinic needs.
Availability for at least one dedicated clinic day or partial clinic day per week is considered an asset.
