Pamela Moskie, MA, R. Psych. (AB)
Registered Psychologist (Alberta)
I was no more than 10 years old when I had started questioning the nature of existence and had difficulty understanding how my peers were not asking the same questions. I was never really on a “journey” but a crash course in living that helped me, not to finding answers, but in a constant and passionate dialogue with the questions. That continues to this day. It turns out that the ongoing dialogue with the questions of existence is the very thing I’ve always sought and love when it arises between myself and a patient in therapy and my personal life. I have lived and worked in human services all my adult life mostly in rural Alberta. I have taught yoga for 25 years and the enneagram at beginner and advanced levels for 15. I am heavily involved in the Edmonton Jungian community and international depth psychology communities and work full time in my private practice as a Registered Psychologist. In my recreation time I write poetry, spend time as close to the sea as possible, enjoy humour, live music and a wide variety of friendships. I live in rural Alberta with my 17 year old daughter and a pair of sassy cats.

Sessions with Pamela
I am conversational in my approach to therapy and relatively informal. I have found in my 15 years as a depth psychologist that conversation is the bedrock of therapy. I believe that therapy is meant to be collaborative and that the unconscious arises in surprising ways despite (and sometimes in spite) of the ego’s plans. Therefore, I maintain a constant “listening” for what naturally, but subtly, arises as patients describe their inner lives. I’m unlikely to give you a linear and programmatic formula to psychology. I like to facilitate an atmosphere of curiosity within sessions that helps to unearth deep dynamics and patterns that facilitate individuation in ways that may not fit along lines expected lines of societal conformity. I enjoy humour and banter where possible and appropriate while maintaining a serious dedication to a patient’s process. I am comfortable with the dark aspects of the psyche and can hold space for the most abstract and uncanny aspects of consciousness.
